Tweeting coffee pot 2.0

I’m proud to present: the tweeting coffee pot version 2.0!

What is it?

A coffee pot that sends out a tweet when the coffee is finished.

Why?

The idea was born after I read the story of the invention of the webcam. However, I wanted to give it a modern twist. see: I’m LAZY, and I don’t want to check every so often to check if there is coffee… I want to be notified! and since my twitter feed is open most of the time, it seemed like a good idea to let the coffee pot send out a tweet when it’s ready.

How?

Quite simple actually: with an arduino + ethernet shield, and only 2 wires. The wires go into the reservoir of the coffee maker and the arduino checks if there is conductivity between the two wires. If there is: there is still water in the pot, and the coffee is not yet ready. if there is no more conductivity, the coffee is ready to be served.
